RÉN A Sì was born in Northeast China. Through his books one can catch a glimpse inside his hyperactive brain which is so full or fantasy that it started to leak onto the paper. Maybe it’s because of his enviable occupation: he’s a teacher, which means he’s got extra long summer holidays. And guess how he spent time in these holidays? He was travelling with his students. Wherever they went, they drew. They did’t even have to look for inspirations. Everything could inspire them from a trash bin to an empty beach. Every year, after such a holiday, he always managed to collect a bunch of drawings, paintings and photos, most of the time it’s a mix of all three, and make a book out of them. That’s the secret behind his productivity.
