Habitat.
The book Habitat is a Riso-printed artist book which is the result of a workshop among 10 artists at Bananafish Bookstore in Shanghai in 2017. It was the first event in the China meets Norway in a Bookshelf- project of Northing.
Habitat is the place where we live and multiply. In nature, animals choose, adapt to and become part of their habitat, whilst in the human society we build, develop and rehabilitate our habitat. Habitat means different things to different individuals.
From concept development to printing and binding, the book took only 15 hours to come into being. 6 of the artists were from or based in Norway and 4 came from Shanghai. They were architects, graphic designers, bookmakers, comic artists, photographers and illustrators. The result is one of a kind and illustrates the diversity of habitat.
